Enjoying the Challenges

Good afternoon,
I hope you are all surviving this intolerable heat. I do not cope with heat at all. I much prefer the cold weather, Probably why I loved living in Canberra so much. maybe one day I might go back to live.
there.

Last night I decided I would challenge myself and enter the Global Design Project this week.
the Challenge is to use colours as specified by the Design Team.

Here is weeks colour challenge

I have to admit I looked and looked and looked at these colours and struggled to find something I thought would pull these colours together in a nice way.
It certainly was a challenge for me this week!
After 2 or 3 attempts I finally came up with a design I thought might work, and given this challenge has to be submitted Feb 13 I decided I would go with a valentines day feel for my card.

I am actually happy with the end result. It is not your typical lovey dovey Valentines card, but rather a more simple I love you card. So could easily be given to a friend or parent so they feel appreciated.

The card has actually grown on me overnight. I am really liking the colour combination, its refreshing and different, Almost a fresh feel to it, I think.

Using My bigshot and magnetic base plate
I cut the heart from Watermelon Wonder cardstock and flowers from Daffodil Delight (on the front of the card) using the Bloomin Heart Thinlits dies.

I used the Die Brush set to get the fiddley bits out of my die and die cut.

I made cut a mat and then cut my Greeting from a small piece of the Emerald Envy Cardstock.

I cut 2 of the larger flowers and 3 of the smaller ones from Daffodil delight Cardstock using the flower dies from the Bloomin Heart Thinlits.

I then used the corresponding outline stamp from Bloomin Love polymer set, to outline the flowers in Emerald Envy.

I then covered my cut out greeting with fine tip glue pen and left to dry. this creates a glossy effect on the word when dry, and adds another dimension to the card.

I then used the Hearts decorative mat  and sponged on daffodil delight using my dauber to get the depth of colour I wanted on to the card front.

lastly I stamped my sentiment into my card using the I Love You stamp from Book Case Builder stamp set (and masking the words and all your stuff as I didn't want that to be stamped).

lastly I stamped he floral heart from the Bloomin love polymer set onto some whisper white Cardstock and fussy cut it out and popped it on some dimensionals to have it pop of the inside of the card
